Our next location on the Burger Hunt in Oslo was Nydalen Bryggeri og Spiseri. Initially, we planned to order from a small burger place downtown and eat outside. However, it was an incredibly rainy day so we ended up taking a trek out to Nydalen. Nydalen is a neighborhood in Oslo located about 6 kilometers north and east of downtown Oslo.
The restaurant was really charming and luckily, we were able to get a last minute reservation. Due to the weather, our healthy group of 10 girls dwindled to 5 but… we had a blast.
I ordered the cheeseburger which is served with cheddar cheese, bloody mary ketchup (my latest obsession), onion, pickles, lettuce and tomato. Of course, I asked for no mayonnaise as the burger typically includes it.
The burger was well seasoned and juicy. The fries were nice and crispy as well. This turned out to be an excellent, simple burger. Sometimes when you change plans last minute, it can be a bit stressful and you end up at the first available place. However, we were definitely lucky to receive this recommendation and visit Nydalen Bryggeri.
Additionally, we ordered dessert. We shared an order of beeramisu and cheesecake between the 5 of us. A beeramisu is close to a tiramisu but beer is used in lieu of rum (and possibly the expresso). The beeramisu was my favorite between the two desserts. I wish more restaurants offered it on their dessert menu!
This was our second burger tasting and I do believe the burger here is winning thus far. Simple but tasty. I’d definitely order it again.
Where to next? Burger Joint 🙂
